About SFJH Student Council - 8th Grade Farewell Formal

The 8th Grade Farewell Formal is a celebratory event designed to honor our students’ hard work, growth, and achievements as they prepare to transition to high school. This formal provides an opportunity for students to build positive memories with their peers in a safe, structured, and inclusive environment. It encourages social development, teamwork, and a sense of accomplishment at the end of their middle school journey. Funding from this grant will directly support the planning and execution of the event. Specifically, the funds will be used to cover the cost of decorations, music, lighting, photo opportunities, and themed activities that create an engaging and memorable experience. We also plan to use funds for refreshments, student recognition awards, and other event materials that make the evening special without placing a financial burden on families. By supporting this project, the grant will help promote school spirit, strengthen our sense of community, and give students a meaningful way to celebrate their efforts and milestones. The Farewell Formal will serve as both a reward and a motivator—encouraging responsibility, leadership, and school pride among our 8th graders.
